Harper turned a year old on February 15th!
She’s about 12.5lbs and is almost 24in long. Harper still gets a little less than 3oz of formula every 3 hours through her g tube. Next week Harper will start transitioning over to blended foods! We have decided to go with premade packages of food that have all of the nutrients and calories that she will need. For example, the packages contain banana puree, chicken broth, organic whole grain brown rice, broccoli puree, organic green peas, and so much more! She will still get fed through her g tube. We will just be putting blended food in her feeding bag instead of formula.
This past month we started seeing Harper’s occupational therapist. We see her weekly and we have already seen some small milestones! Harper is opening her hands more and more. A couple of days ago, she reached for a toy for the first time!
Last month, I talked about Harper’s sleeping schedule and I knew by talking about it that I would jinx it, and I was right. Right now Harper is sleeping about 7-8 hours at night and she will take an hour morning nap and then a long afternoon nap.
Yesterday, we met with Harper’s cardiologist. We finally get to take Harper off of Lasix! Lasix helped removed extra fluid from her heart. One less medication we have to worry about!
Saturday, the 16th, we celebrated Harpers first birthday with friends and family. If you would like to see more pictures, check out Harper’s Facebook Page. For Harper’s first birthday we created Harper’s very own t-shirts for Trisomy 18 awareness. You can purchase one here.
